| Abstract | This study describes the development of a series of strong electron-deficient acceptor units, namely, fluorenone imide (FOI) and its derivatives, functionalized with various electron-withdrawing groups, which are developed via functionalization of the fluorenone unit with an imide group and then systematic variation of the attached electron-withdrawing groups at the bridgehead benzylic position. |
