Abstract | How to store the large amount of sensing data generated by phase-sensitive optical time-domain reflectometry (Phi-OTDR) at a low system cost during the long-term monitoring is a problem worth investigating. In this paper, we propose a time-efficient data reduction solution based on the twice undersampling technique. Experimental results show that the proposed method has a 95% data reduction ratio while being able to improve the data processing speed by 72.89%. With the twice undersampling method, the data storage pressure is expected to be released and the real-time performance of the system could be further enhanced. |
