Abstract | In this issue of Chem Catalysis, Fananas-Mastral and co-workers report on the development of desymmetrization of meso-dibromo-cycloalkenes by using a copper-catalyzed borylative coupling with alkynes via a catalytically generated boron-substituted alkenylcop-per intermediate. This transformation gives access to a wide range of chiral cycloalkenes featuring stereodefined alkenyl boronate and bromide functionalities with high regio-, diastereo-, and enan-tioselectivity. |
